GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE. . . WELLINGTON, Oct. The 'Remounts.-.Encouragement Bill, was introduced to-day by the Prime Minister, aims at the eiicouragcnient of the breeding ii'i -New' 5 /Jealajid of horses suitable for inilit.'iry purposes; It provides for. the payment, subject to certain conditions, of a subsidy not exceeding £IOO in each case, to the owners of, stallions in respect bf'tl|p services of such stallions for any season. .Stallions in respect of which tlio subsidy is paid must' be passed- by not less than two good veterinarians,'and must be of a suitable type. . Subsidies shall not be 'paid- in respect, of • more 'than one stallion. in any one locality.
