OAMARU FIRE BRIGADE

The. monthly meeting of-the Oilman PiVfl 'Brigade' whs' held at the s'tntioir last evening, Superintendent W. James presiding over n good attendance, A letter was received from the Morningtou (Dunedin) Fire Brigade, enclosing tickets for a benefit to one of their members, which woro sold in the'room, the tickets lining returned by the purchasers with a request that tlio secretary send thorn back to Mornington for re-sale. . ;.

The Town Clerk wrote.asking the Brigade to thoroughly inspect.and test the. firo appliances at the Opera House, and; it was decided that the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent attend to' the mattor and report thereon. . Accounts amounting to £23|,wer<s passed for payment; . .'"..-. It was resolved that ia view of tho, Timnru Fire Brigade's Association's demonstrations, which are to tin hchlin, Timnru in the early part of 1916, the Brigade go into active prcpantions. ; for I lie sanioj nnd that a local .competition; be held on Thursday, L'Oth November.next. ' A-hearty vote of thanks wis passed to Fireman Nightingale for effecting various repairs to the furnitnrt at tho station.
