WEDDING AT TOKARAHI.

(From a Correspondent),, A large number of friends and guests of Mr and Mrs Wilson (Alaerewheuua) assembled at the Tokarahi Hall on Wednesday, May '2Bth, to witness the marriage of their, daughter May to "Mr Young (Railway JJepartment), of ralmerstoh South. The day, though overeast and windy in the mommi; turned out an'ideal one for the occasion, The otliciating clergyman was, the Rev. Mr Wright (Oamaru). After the usual signing ol the register all repaired to the breakfast tables, where a sumptuous breakfast was very tastefully laid out, and the good things that the' tables bore were done ample justice to,

Mr Wright presided and, with his usual goal humor, proposed the health ol the bride and bridegroom, at the same time eulogising the good qualities of "the parent!:' of the bride and bridegroom, Ho also congratulated Mi Young on his selection of so charming a bride,'and concluded by wishing them loner life and prosperity. The bridegroom replied on behalf of his" wife and himself, at the same time emphasising the fact that he had made a very good choice, and was also sure that during their married life they would ' live happy and contented.

The health of the bridesmaid was proposed by Mr M'Gradie, and Mr H. V. Young rcsponried at some length'on behalf of the bride's sister.

Mr James Hore proposed the health of the parents of the bride and bridegroom, mentioning the' fact that he had known Mr Wilson for a con-

sjderable number of years, and I had always found him of genuine sterling quality. Mr llore also/said tliat although he was not personally acquainted with Air Young (father of the bridegroom), he had heard on very good authority that „he was a. father' that any son '.night justly be proud of. ■■ The toast of tiie parents ol the bride and bridegroom was responded to by "Mr Wilson and Mr James Young (fathers of the bride and bridegroom respectively)'. Mr Uore also proposed the toast of the chairman, which was very, ably responded to bv tin-; Uev. Mr .Wright. Several oilier toasts were proposed and honored. The. wedding presents were both numerous, very. useful, and varied.

At about .three o'clock p.m. the happy couple left Tokarahi en route to fields unknown to spend their .honeymoon, amongst a perfect shower of rice, confetti, old boots, and the good wishes, of their many friends and acquaintances.. '
