The breaking-up for the Christmas holidays of the Middle School look place yesterday afternoon in the school hall, and although the day was stormy and wet there was a good latttndunce of the parents, friends and others to watch the proceedings. There was no formal ceremony or speech making a t 'he clos-ings-only a short programme of "• aciion songs and dialogues, and a | little play in which Father Christ- i mas was the central figure. The medals for the flux girl and ' boy were given by Mr E. P. Lee, M.P., and Mr Jas. Craig respectively. Mrs A. Riach (wife of the chairman of the Committee) presented Ihe prizes. After the presentation of the prizes I Miss Swinard, probationer, was pre- ' sented by the children of her class | with a handsome gold bangle on her leaving the school to continue, her studies at the training college | at Dun Klin.
