Wo show them numbered to aid you in the Solution. Some of the'strips will slightly overlap others.: 1 " ' -. The' puzzle Is to, take away five slips, and have three perfect squares left, ;
In a company of boyß and glrlß a prize may be offered for the quickest solution. They may all look at the one figure as you have formed it on the table, you may furnish each member of the company with 17 slips, and offer tho prize to the one who will first form the original figure, and then the three squares by taking away'the five Blips,
The solution is accomplished by taking away slips two, seven, nine, 14, and 17, and you will have the j three squares left.
