The weathetduring!-, tho morning was. showery, but even this did not seem to interfere at all with the attendance, .which was much larger than last year's. About 7 o'clock King Sol broke through all nebulous restraints, and thereafter the conditions were wellnigh ycifeet. In the circumstances the sports were most enjoyable, and the day, at the , finish,, was voted a huge success, • A large contingent of' visitors went up. from Oamaru, and- the attendance -was drawn from far and near. Waiikakahi turned out almost en bloc, Making the school' ground,' where the events were decided, present a very lively appearance. The Citizens' Band provided good music and plenty of it, and materially added to tho. pleasure of the gathering, Mr Williams, the popular secretary (Of thegames, was indefatigable in his efforts, the organisation was good, and things, consequently, went with a swing. Tho track might have been | better,- certainly, but that is more ,or less a detail in connection with I a country, meeting. The just event [was run,off at noon, precisely, and [the last well on schedule time. .Following are the results:-.
