WAIMATE HOSPITAL BOARD.

From Our Own Correspondent. A meeting of the trustees was held' on Wednesday, October 31, wlicn there were present Messrs Lyall, Atwell, Miller, Sanders, P. Studholine, Walker and Breen. The Chairman, Mr J. Sinclair, being absent, Mr Walker was moved to the chair.

I After the minutes of last meeting. ■ were confirmed, it was rcsohVcd) i that the accounts against the Trustees, if not delivered to the I Secretary before 2 o'clock on the. Monday afternoon next before thcrcI gular meeting day will not be at' tended to until the next following meeting, The surgeon's report for last month showed: Number of patients under treatment last sitting 7; admitted during the month, 10; total treated, 7 : discharged G ; died 1; remaining under treatment, 10. The matron's account of the financial (positions of patients, as to payment, was considered A resolution expressing the Trustees' regret, at the loss of such a good friend of the Hospital as Mr Petit, and of condolenco with Mrs Petit and family on the occasion was passed. Mr Studholme and Mr 'Atwill, visitors' reported having found the Hospital and grounds in a satisfactory condition. In the matter of improvements to some drainage works-it was reresolved that Dr Barclay and Mr Sanders be appointed to have the repairs and improvements to ' the drainage effected.

Mr Sanders said there is not time to attend to the bus ncss of the Board in a proper manner on the same day and after the' close of the County Council meeting. Mr Walker said there were several members of the Board who were members of..,the County Council, and reside' at a considerable distance, to whom it would not be convenient to attend at other time. It was resolved that Messrs Miller, Sanders, Atwill, and Sinclair be a sub-committee to consider the accounts at about say an hour before the regular time for mectinc. Accounts amounting to £l3O Bs lfld were passed for payment.
