TO THE EDITOR, Sib,—Now that the "daft" clays are over in Oamaru, and the Commonwealth has got a fair start, perhaps you may find room in your -valuable paper for 'a few remarks on tough matters; and, first, in regard to the the Eailway Department on tje footpaths at the new railway station. I have been much amused in observing, since the new railway station was opened, the amount of money spent on property because' now in the vicinity of the railway station, I question if some of these "speculators will'not be had over their recklessness,—l am, etc.,
