The third mitch between the above olubs was played Id Mr Schlater'a paddock on Ju'y 14bb, and attracted & fair crowd of supporters of both tides, the Pukeurltes being specially favored by greit support from (he ladies. Aa both 'eims had a win to their c edit", great interest was t-»ken in iha conqueror, which resulted in a win for Hilderthorpe by one wicket and one ran. Owing to the w»t wicket the bowlers on both fcldfn were almoeb unplayable, the reault being small scores. As the game drew te a close, the greatest excitement prevailed, and J. Dennison, the Hilderthorpe batsman who made the winning hit-, was carried shoulder high to the " pavilion." The following are the rcorea :
