NORTH OTAGO CYCLING CLUB

The annual meeting of fche above Club was held m the Globe Hotel, Mr A. J. Grave occupying the chair. There was a large attendance of members.

The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed.

The following report was read and adopted :

Iv presenbing the sixth annual reporb the Committee may congratulate bhe members on having brought the Club safely bhrough another year's operations. The season was marked by the visit of the International Cycling Team, comprising Messrs Martin, Harri -•, and Pifcher, and the sports meeting ab which they competed was a marked success. A road race was held under the auspices of bho Club on the 14th of Miy, the course being to Awamoko and back, which evenb was won by Mr J. Gibson, a you»g rider, who will no doubt be heard of m bhe racing arena later on. In this race Mr A. Dalglcish established a record for the distance, his time beiug 1 hour 33 mins. This rider also distinguished himself by establishing a record to Dunedin, his time being 5 hours 21 mins, which time has not since leen beaten. ITor this feat (one of which he may jnst'y bo proud) Mr Dalgleish secures the Club's gold medal, valued ab 15. Financially tbe Club is io a healthy position, the balance-sheet jusb read showin.' th ib an improvemenb of L 5 3s 6 I has taken place during tho year, the credib balanco now standing at Ll4 53. The thanks of the Club are due to bhe following f eublemcn for their kind donations bo the Club's funds, namely Messrs J. M'Lean, O. R Wise, J. Familtoj, nnd J. B. Grave, lfc is to be regretted that the Club does not possess more active members, and m retiring your Commifcttee trust during the m- 1 coming sea_an this will be remedied. The following new members were elected: Messrs R. Wilson, B. Bent, A. Rapson, John Rapson, E. Perry, E. Treahy.A. Wilkie, J. Heron, W. M'Arloy, J. Marshall, W. Citto, J. Russell, G. Dennison and F. Dennison. I

The election of officers tor fche ensuing year resulted as follows : Patron, John M'Lean, Esq. ; president, Mr 0. R Wise ; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Potter, W. Bee, J. Familton, W. Waddell, A. G. Creagh, W. Lawson, A. Familton ; captain, Mr D. Miller ; vice-captain, Mr J. Rapson ; secretary, Mr Jas. Bee; auditor, Mr R. M'Dowell ; bugler, Mr D. Johnston ; committee, Messrs A. J. Grave, A. Wilkie, A. Dalgleish, F. Dennison, E. Sfcauiford, W. Mafcheson, J. Herron, W. Hedl&y. Messrs F. Pannell and John M'Laren (Christchurch), were appointed delegates to fche New Zealand Cyclists' Union.

The opening run of the season was fixed for Thursday, 15th October.
