Jadge Williams' summing up iu the Dean case occupied two hours and a-half. Generally it was advorso to the accused. The jury retired at 12,30, and hi half-an-hour returnod with a verdicb of guilty. When nsked if she had anything to Bay why sentence of death should nob be passed, Minnie Dean rose, and in a firm, clear voice answered, "No ; I hare onJy to thank Detective M'Grath for hi* kindness to me." His Honor then assumed the black cap and passed sentence of death, which the prisoner received with perfect composure, and stepped out of the dock apparently the least concerned woman In the crowded Court.
