This was resented by a great crowd which assembled in the cemetery, and they hooted, hustled, and spat on the mourners. The police, ab great hazard to themselves, protected the cortege from many ugly rushes on j the part of the mob, while the mounted police, with great difficulty, stemmed the crowds of people who endeavored to crowd round the grave. The funeral procession was met with cries f " Down with anarchy," " Keep in your own country," and "No bombs in England." The hearso was peltod with stones, and mud, and garbage, by the women especially, Subsequently a baud of students smashod the windows aud doors of the Autonomic Club. At the cemetery the police seized a large number of anarchist flags and banners.
