WALKING ON WATER,
Captain Terry and Professor C. W. Oldievio, two Englishmen, bolh of whom U6ed spec&lly made floits (wtites a coiri^pindent of 'Scene tSift'ng-''), have succ c eded in walking on water. Captain Terry in 1839 wa'ked on the Tharae3 from Bunea to Mortlake at the rate of nearly four milee an hourjaad intimated an intention of wa'king scro6a the Channel from Dover to Cala s, but that walk has not yet come ofl'. Profesaor Oldrovie who is the champion water walker of the world, has made several successful exhibitions of his power ile successfully breaBted the Niagara rapif'pj walking on the rapids throag; 1 ' Huntet Falla in the presence of more than 3000 spectator. He also performed a daring and dangerous feat in Bcston B*y on July 25, 1889. On th'it rccusion he started on a trial trip across Hull Gut. Tbiee or four harbor boats pa'.Bed near him, and he was obliged to take th-ir wash, but not withstanding thiB he accomplished tbr feat easily in fifteen minutes, the distauce being about a quarter of a mile.
