AMATEUR ROWING ASSOCIATION. (BY TELEGRAPH.) Wellington, October 18.
The unnu.il meeting of tho Ni»w 'Aw\l»nd Amateur Rowing Association was held last night, 22 clubs being represented by delegates. The Dunedin Amateur Ron ing Club whs elected a member of tho Association. Earl Onslow was re-elech'd patron of the Association ; James Sulanders, of Nelson, presi- ; Dr Pollen, (Jtsbornc, and Mr F. Hynmn, Christchurch, vice-presidontij. It was decided that the four championship rtces this season should be rowed in Nelson at the jubilee regatta there next February, a proposal that the events be decided at Wanganui being lost by an overwhelming majority. The Wnitemata Boating Club's men, who competed at the Dunedin Exhibition Regatta, wore reinstated as amiteurs, the secretary being instructed to make it clear to the Club that this course had been taken on the distinct, understanding that the m»>n had reaped no pecuniary benefit from the race. W. Bridson, amateur champion sculler of the colony, who leaves shortly for Melbourne to compete in the amateur sculling championship of Victoria, wua accordtd a hearty vote of thanks for the assistance he had rendered amateur rowing in the colony.
