Mr A. Saundors, M.H.R. for Solwyn, addressed hiq constituents at Springston last evening. Ho described the new members, the now Government, and the new Opposition. Ho condemned the fintuicinl policy of tho Government and tho Payment of Members Bill, and supported Mr M'Kenzio's Land Bill und t!« Lund nnd Tncomo Tax. Ho expressed himself prepared to give tho Government an independent Bupport. He blainod the Opposition for ever having appointed Me Bryco as loader, nnd said that it was «*xtromely unlikely that tho present leader of tho Opposition would fiuccoed the Premier. Ho received a vote of thanks and confidence, Mr Perceval, the new Agont General, left to-day in tho Penguin for Dunodin, whero he joins the Wairarapa and proceeds to England, via Melbourne. A largo number of prominent citizons assembled at the railway station to bid him farewell. Fratornitn was scratched nt 3.6 p.m. to-day for all engagements at tho 0. J.C, Metropolitan meeting.
