A new scliemo to assist working men to take up bush lnnd for settlement by advancing money on improvements, and by giving liberal terms of payment, is to bo brought under the notice of tho Minister of Linda shortly. The Deferred Payment Small Farm Association (says tho Wanganui Herald) will suggcBt tlmt tho Government sot apart 100 acres of Grst-ckiss or 100 acres of second-class Lnd for every 648 ticres of nil Crown lands for salo, such sections to bo as level and of as good quality as possible, and to bo sold to bonajide working men only under the following terms : Each sottler to bo compelled to full at least 40 acres tho first year if token up beforo 15th July, or 25 acres if taken up after that date, tho balanco to bo felled beforo 15th .July following. The Ciovernment to advance LI per acre for foiling, 10s per aero for grassing (the settlsr being compelled to sow 10a worth of grass seed :o the acre), L25 for a houso, and L15 for fencing, making a total of L100. This money it is proposed to add to the pi ice of tho land, to be paid by yearly instalments at the rato of 3id per cent for 15 years, but no payments to bo made for tho first three years. Tho settler is to be compelled to resido on tho land within three years from the date of signing, and members selecting tho same block will bo requited to ballot for priority of choice, while all sections not tnkon up at the first selection are to be open for application, and in tho evont of there then being move than one applicant, a ballot is to take place As soon as 80 members join tho Association, tho Minister is to be interviewed.
