This afternoon Bishop Julius delivered • an address to trades unionists jj**lsk& Cathedr.il, which was crowdeffT "'Hroaid that the tendency of the present age vr&a to abandon individualism in favor "of soci ilism. He was a socialist because ha was t Christian, and socialism was taught in the New Testament., He did not think that trades unions were sufficient to cure the evils of the present Bocial system, though they had doue in the past, despite the fact that) their methods had sometimes been faulty. What lay at the root of all the evils of tne present system was sin, and no system of socialism, however complete, would bring happiness unless it was accompanied by righteousness. lie feared that the working classes did not bestow sufficient care on their children's training.
