COMMERCIAL. STOCK SALES.
The attendance at the tale of acock on Tuesday was small, and there was only a small entry of stock. This was due to harvesting operations being in full swing. Prices, howerer, were good, and show an improvement on those ruling at the name period of last year. Messrs Bruce Christie and Co. sold 23 medium fat crossbred ewes at 7s 5d ; 70 two-tooth crossbred ewes and wethers, three-parts fat, 9» 6d f 112 two-tooth crossbred ewes and wethers, stores, 8s 3d. Cattle were dull of sale. Messrs Fleming and Hedley report as follows : On account of Mr John Hunter (Airedale), 50 prime crossbred ewes at 11s 2d,61 do do at Us. On account of Mr.T. C. Gilchrist, 31 prime crossbred ewts at 10s 9d. On account of other vendors, 10 store and dairy cows st up to L 3 10s.
