Mr Vernon's eleven, was resumed to-day The home team had nine wickets down for 459 runs, playing one man &bort. The Englishmen th^n eonimencsd tbeir second innings, and linfcpub together 52 runs without the loss of a wicket, wheu play was stopped owing to thts visitors being unable to continue the match, they having to leave for Melbourne in order to commence a match against a combined eleven of Anstralia on Saturday. The local match was declared drawn.
