An extensive fire occurred to-day at the Charter House buildings, by which 10 warehouses and several houses were destroyed. The Shipping Company's R.M.S. Ruapehu, from Wellington, August 30, arrived at Plymouth this morning, with her cargo of frozen meat in good condition. Received Ootober 8, at 8 p.m. London, October 8. The damage done by the fire in Charter House buildings is estimated at half a million pounds.
