At tho R.M. Court to-day, John Griffin, late barman at tho Club Hotel, was cominittod for trial at tho Snpronio Court for |larcony of money from ft till. A quantity of marked coin was traced to his possession. At n meeting of tho Geraldino County Council to-day, the slaughterhouse foes were fixod. Anyone killing twd large or ten small cattle per weok pay an annual license of L 2, and over this number a license of L 5. It was rosolvod to apply to the Government for a tomporaiy a-1-vanco of L2OO. A hot discussion took place on a proposal to inako Timani instead of Temuka tho county town, tho question eventually being postponed. Tho weather is again very favorable for harvesting, and operations are rapidly bocoming general. Tho crops aro looking magmncont.
