OAMARU JOCKEY CLUB.

A committoo mooting of tho Oamnru Jockey Club was lield yesterday overling, lit tho Empire Hotel. The members prosit were — Messrs Moss, Hardy, Greenfield, M. Grant, Paterson, F. Grant (see. pro tan ), OBrien, Dodge, Nihil, RonHyno, Southam, and Jennings. Tho minutes of the former mooting wore road and confirmed, and tho members then formed thomsolves into a general mooting, of which Mr Hardy nai voted to the chair. The minutes of tho former general meeting having been read and confirmed, the balanoo-sheot was read by tho treasurer, Mr Moss, tho following being tho principal items : Tho sum paid away in stakes amounted to L 432 Gs, and for expenses, L 79 11s 7d. Tho assota were in all L 559 12s ; leaving a balance of a little ovor L 47. Mr GroenGold moved that tho balancesheet bo accepted, mid complimented tho treasurer, Mr Moss, on tho lucid manner in which ho had made out his account. Mr llouayue seconded tho motion, and it was oarriod accordingly. Tho mooting then procoodod to consider what should bo dono with the surplus balance. Mr Moss remarked that tho liabilities of tho old jclub wore between L2OO and L3OO, and thought that tho present club had agreed to pay anything that they could spare ovor to tho old club, towards paying off their liabilities, though they should not make themselves responsible for tho liabilities of tho old club. Mr Moss then tnovod that the sum of L4O should bo handed to the seerotury and treasurer of the North Otago Turf Club, to go towards tho payment of their liabilities, on condition that a meeting of the old olub be called to rocoivo tho money ao presented, and that any future surplus should in tho sumo manner bo paid over to the old club. MrSoutham seoondod tho motion, which was carried. After considerable diooussion upon tho advisability of fixing a date for a mooting in March or April, Mr Greenfield moved that a two days' meeting bo fixed for tho 17th and 18th of March, botwoen tho Timaru and Dunodin fixtures. Mr Southam seconded tho motion, and it was carried. After some furthor discussion, which did not, so far as wo woro able to ascertain, load to any results of importance, the mooting terminated.
