' Stud Notices.

! TO STAND THIS SEASON, At th'o Windsor Park Estato, near .Oimaru, .' Tho Puro-brcd Clydosdalo Stallion •ORINOE VICTOR.

PRINCE VICTOR is a beautiful,! thickset, stout • hearted, , dark -, brown, stallion, rather undor than over 16 hands 3 i nohes, brod by John Henderson, Esq.i Parkmanis. Was got by Prihcb 6f" Wales, 'the] illus- ' triQus stud hoyse of L. Drew, F.«q., : tferry - ton, out of Rotu'ot a maro belonging to an exceedingly faVorablo strain, of, blood} and is one or tho finest and most perfect mares th« ever looked through a bridle. She gained many first 'prizes^ and at Mkryhill won second honors at a brood mat*o in % competition , that wm open to all ScdtJand., Rosie was cot by $h,e famous horso Vlotor, tho winner of first prizes' at Gatohfmso of Fleet. Btfahnter, Kirkcudbright, and Wigtonshire, and in 1864 won second prize at the Highland Society's Show at Stirling, and was afterwards sold to go to, Attttralift, Tho great breeding lines or Prince Victor nro tho fine combinations of the Princo of Wales's blood orossed with that of Victor's, whioh tracb back tinintemtptedly to the Columba Stook of 1835. Rosie's granddam was Jean, tho dam of Disraeli, who, when a 2-year-old, won first prizes at tho Highland Society's Show, held at Glasgow in' 1875 ; and as a 3-year-old ho won first prizo at) tho Glasgow Stallion Spring Show of 1870. Princo Victor lost year could boast of four winners a.t the different shows. Local and district performances such as these, as also his pedigree —^ancostry shining with the names of the foundorß of what is known as tho Victor brood— should not fail to attract attention to Princo Victor's claims as a siro. Ho is a horse of great substance and powor, has many points of great cxcellenco to recommend him as a breeder, qualities which are inherent in tho Clydesdalo chamotor of the modern school. Ho has a larae share of his siro's good qualities, the full fti'rt perfeot imago of that which may bo rogardtd as a specimen of the genus, and which is virtually extinct in Victoria sinco the death of Mr Cox's " exceptionally grand horse, Prince of Wales." Thoro is, not too much of him, perhaps, but his make, shape, and blood aro tho surest test of excellence. His fino logs, strong and great bono, 'clean, and flowing with nice hair — tho truo. badge of a well-bred Clydosdalc— and if his sire is a landmark of tho ancient state of things, Princo Victor is tho cpitomo of tho now, and, one of the most compact and fashionable orses to be seen.
