It is rumoured that a lawsuit will shortly be cummencod between two large landowners in this country touching the flooding of a valuable property by water, through diversion during the late heavy rains. X man named Jeremiah Ourrie had a narrow eaoape of being filled on Saturday night last. Ho was found by the driver lying within a few inohes of the rail* in » helpless state of intoxication, about fiv.e
miles from Ashburton, on the Great Southern Railway, just m the evening train was passing from Ohristohuroh. The snow has all cleared away, and today the weather has been beautifully fine. Business ii improving slowly, though many complaints are made as to the scarcity of money.
