The ketch Franklin Belle entered inwards y«9t«rd»y from Dunedin, with a general cargo. The schooner Owake, Captain Lamg, cleared outwards for the Bluff on Saturday afternoon, with a cargo of breadstuff's " The ketch Hnon Belle put in here for shelter on Sunday. She was compelled to put to sea from Timaru roadstead on Friday •night, owing tr> the bad weatner. She left agiin for Timaru last night. Referring to the wreck of the schooner Clyde, the Christchurch Press has the following :—": — " Writing on this subject, our Leeston correspondent states that when the vessel was beached on Saturday, she was seized by some fishermen at daybreak, and Sergeant Barlow was at once communicated with, who hurried to the scene of the wreck as. soon as possible, where he remained until our correspondent left. The vessel has sustained but little injury, being perfectly upright, and embedded in the shingle broadside on to the beach between high and low water mark. The only seriout damage done was to the topmast, which was snapped by the fore of the concussion. It is expected that very little difficulty will be experienced in floating her at high water, provided proper precautions are taken io prevent her driftinw further on to the loose shingle at flood tide."
