HARBOR BOARD ELECTIONS.

Under the provisions of th« Harbors' Act, 1878, the nominations of candidates for election to the Harbor Board were made at noon yesterday, at the Harbor Chambers. Mr T. Forrester acted at Returning Officer. Very little interest appeared to be taken in the matter, there being only a small number of gentlemen present. On opening the nomination { tapers the following gentlemen were ound to be proposed as candidates :—: — Mr Hexry Aitkek — Proposed by Mr Frank Dunlop, and seconded by Mr John Mainland. Mr Frank Dunlof — Proposed by Mr Neil Fleming, and seconded by Mr Allan Hedley. Mr Samuel Gibbs — Proposed by Mr James Wilson Humphrey, and seconded by Mr Edwin Collis. Mr James Hamell, sen. — Proposed by Mr Henry Watson, and seconded by Mr Edward Rowland. I Mr James Wilsok Humphrey —Proposed by Mr James Msrkham, and seconded by Mr John Hendry. Mr I*llo MA.i Meek — Proposed by Mr , Arthur Henry Maude, and seconded by Mr John Orr. Mr GsoRGS Scmitkr — Proposed by Mr Henry Aitken, and seconded by Mr Christopher Oalbraith. The number of seats on the Board requiring to be filled being three, and there being seren candidates proposed, the Returning Officer announced that a poll would be taken on Monday, 10th inst., between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
