The money market is rather firmer. Bank reserve stronger, nearly 13 millions. Consols, 96 to 96£. Australian securities have experienced a strong revival. The wheat market is unchanged. There is a quantity of inferior New Zealand wheat in the market. Wool is quiet. Current rates show a recovery. In fine wool business is less depressed. The Zulu war has commenced. The king refused to listen to the British ultimatum. The troops immediately crossed the frontier, attacking and carrying the principal outpont. Owing to reported inroads on the settle ments on the Guinea Coast, the Portuguese Government has declared war on the hostile tribes. A strong expeditionary force is being sent out.
