The following tenders were sent from here for the Stratford railway contract : — Berry and Newman, L16,44C ; M'Gonagh, L 18,475 ; Glendining. L 18,462 ; D. Wilkie, L 18,871. A new township, called Vogel Town, adjoining New Plymouth on the south, is to be sold in quarter-acres on Wednesday, and is expected to realise a large price. A standing crop of grass has been sold at L 7 per acre, and 10* to 12s a day is l>*>- . ing paid to mowers.
