NORTH OTAGO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

A special meeting of the committee was held yesterday in the secretary's office. Present — Messrs H. Oonnell (chairman), Paterson, Morton, Dunlop, Gemmell, Medley, and Little. It was resolred that power be given to the Reaper and Binder Trial Committee to offer prizes to the value of L 5 5s to the driven of the machines at the proposed trial. At a meeting of the sab-committee held afterwards, it was resolved that the secretary advertise that a trial of reapers and binders, open to all comers, shall take place, at a time and place to be afterwards named. The conditions of trial are, that three acres be allotted to each machine, lots to be drawn for the ground, and that three hours be allowed to complete the work. That voting papers be given to evnry bona fide agriculturist present. That the points to be considered by the judges in voting should be time, quality of work done, lightness of draught, durability and strength of working parts, and simplicity of mechanism. It was also arranged that each member of committee should look out for suitable crop and locality for having the trial, and^ to report to a meeting to be held on Saturday, 11th inst. It was agreed to offer a first priae to best driver of machine of L 3, in medals or money, and a second prize of L 2, in medals or money.
