Dfnedin, Jan. 1. Arrived—Easby from Lyttelton, and Taiaroa from the Bluff.
Port Chalmers, Jan. 1. Arrived—Free Trader, barque, from Hobarton; Wild Wave, barque, from Newcastle. " The Tararua from the Bluff reports that after leaving Hobarton she encountered a strong gale for 36 hours, during which eight valuable horses were lost.
Lyttletoht, Jan. 1. Arrived—Charles Deering, barque, from New York, with 1500 tons reapers and binders and Yankee notions—half for Duuedin. Brigantine Isabella, from Catlins River. The American brigantine Star, from Newcastle. On the voyage a seaman named Walker was knocked overboard by the main boom and drowned. The weather was too stormy to ailow of a boat being lowered. Brigantine Borough Belle, from Grafton, N.S.W. Sailed—Mary Campbell, for Greymouth.
