CHKISTCHUROH. — The " Lyttelton Times " of Saturday laat report* :— Business in the grain and product) market is rather quiet, and there is out little change to rocord. i in quotation*. Sound milling wheat command! 4s 6d to 4s 9d, and sprouted parcels from 2* to 2s fid. Immense quantities of the latter quality are coming forward, and most of the stores are already well filled. Oats range from 2s to 2s 3d > export inquiry 1 unusually dull. Barley is somewhat easier, as most of the maltsters are pretty well stookod. Wo quote best bright malting sample at 4s to 4s 3d, and discolored from 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Dairy Produce— Butter meets with littlo or no inquiry; our quotations are nominally lOd to lid. Cheeso is in fair demand at ssd to 6d. Millers' quotations for flour remain as last week, viz., H5 in saoks } bran, L 4 j sharps, L 6. AUCKLAND.— The "Weekly Herald" of March 31nt report* : — Advices from Adelaide and the Viotorian markets report a general decline in the wheat markets, with loss business doing. This has not affected flour hero, and is not likely to do so f mas« muoh as millers have paid the top price* for wheat, and to replace their present stocks of sound samples would be a matter of diffloulty, as tho character of the Southern crop is so questionable as to cause anxioty. Sound flour of primo brands is likely to maintain a high price, but many brands from tho South will bo sent that has been milled from the aprowtod wheat, which is Hkoly to affect the stomachs of consumers, so that for somo time to come various prices for Southern Hour will bo required. Maize is scarce at present, and fetohing from 4s Od to 6s per bushel j but th« arrival of the Fijian vessels at any moment may cause a serious fall in price. Oats are" firmer in price, although quantities are almost daily arriving from the South, but their quality is not to bo compared with the old crop. Holders aro requiring from 8s 2d to 3s 4d for good samples. Butter remains about the same, good salt commands from lOd to lid per lb. Potatoes ore still sent into tho market abun« dantly, and range in price from L 3 to L 4. Gum is low, buyers shewing littlo disposition to oporato, and not more than L 27 can be got to-day.
