DRUNK AMD I)IAO1U)KRI,Y. Jamei Dunoan and John Connor were brought up obarged with this offence on the 7th imt. Both men were cautioned and discharged.

BKRAOH OP OORrORATIOH BYLAWS. James Reid, nightman, was charged by the Inspector of Nuisances with depositing nigntaoil on the beach near the gaavrorka on the 31st March. Defendant admitted the charge. The Inspector of Nuisances said that complaints nad of ton been made to him that defendant was in thp habit of depositing night soil on the beaoh. He had spoken to defendant and ankod him to desist from depositing the night soil there. As defendant persisted in continuing the offence lie (the Inspector) would prow for a fine. Defendant said he would own that ha had deposited slopi from cesspools on thft beach, but denied depositing night soil on the beach during the whole of the time he had been nightman. The Magistrate inflicted a fine of 80s, and ordered defendant to pay costs of wit* nesses.
