( FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. ) Harapdcn, 10th Sept., 1868. The weather has been very unpleasant here for the last two or throe weeks, owing chiefly to tho great falls of snow, such as have not been before witnessod hero by tho oldest settler. Tho weather appoars to bo now more sottled. I learn that tho tender of Mr Proudfoot for tho repairing of the Kaka bridge, has been accepted. Tho work has been delayed for a long time, and at present travellers suffer great moonvenieuce, having to mako a considerable detour over very bad and swampy ground ; und it is thercforo to be hoped that tho small amount of work required to obviate this will bo soon done. A popular entertainment in aid of tho funds of tho Mechanics' Institute, is announcod to take placo on Tuesday, the 22nd in-tant. Several gentleuieu havo volunteered to take part in it. Business matters are exceedingly dull.
