INFORMATION WANTED.
(To the Editor of the Oamaru Times.) Sir, — I wish to ask the public and the Town Council, through your journal, if they think it just to the ratepayers of Oamaru that people, good tradesmen, earning constantly from L3 to L5 per week, should be allowed to escape (through living in tents od the Government Reserve) the tax which ought to fall equally and proportionately on all the residents ? I am told that there are men earning good wages, living in huts on the reserve, and also boarding other persons with them. Surely the reaerve is not meant for such people as these. Yours, &c, Queby.
