Personal Mr. and Mrs. Trask are spending a holiday in Rotorua. Miss Pheobe Wrathall has returned home after spending- a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. R. T. Wrathall has returned after spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilton have returned home after spending a holiday touring- around down south. Miss Toni Wilton is home again after spending a holiday in Whangarei. Major Judson has returned home after being south for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Yates and small daughter Adrienne, who have just returned from the Wairarapa after a month’s holiday, spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Sid Reid. They returned to Kaeo last Sunday by service car. Mr. Yates has been offered a farm down in the Wairarapa district and is contemplating taking it. Mr. Sonny Shepherd returned from Auckland last week and is spending his holidays with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Les McNamara and family returned home from holidaying down south. Visit of H.M.N.Z.S. “Kiwi” On Tuesday the H.M.N.Z.S. “Kiwi” paid Mangonui another short visit. On Wednesday a game of football was staged at Taipa for the visitors. It was a really good game, the best performance the home team has made this season—they proved too good for the visitors, winning 19 to 6. On Wednesday right a dance was held in Ironside’s hall, a bus coming from Kaitaia helping to swell the crowd. Dancing continued till an early hour in the morning. On Thursday night the personnal of the “Kiwi” showed a picture in Ironside’s hall with their 16mm projector. Rainfall for June The rainfall for June was 7.1 ins., heaviest daily fall being 1.56 ins. on the 20th. Rain was recorded on 16 days. SATURDAY’S REFEREES Representative Games Mr. J. E. Wilkinson is the referee appoin ed by the North Auckland Association to control the representative game between Mangonui and Wha ngaroa on Saturday at the Oval foi the second game of the Harding ShieL series. In the Third Grde representative game between Mangonui and Wha ngaroa when the former defend the first challenge for the Powell Shield Mr. W. Johnston of the Bay of Is lands Association of Referees wil give the decisions.
