P.W.M.U. ANNUAL MEETING

“This has been our finest year/’ said Mrs. W. Parker, Secretary of the Kaitaia Branch of the P.W.M.U., in presenting the annual report at a well-attended meeting in the church on Wednesday afternoon. The report revealed that there were 39 members, 16 of whom were corresponding members, and that all meetings during the year had been well-attended. Miss Morrison, who keeps in touch with the associate members, reported that she had written 192 letters during the year, most of which were of a semi-personal nature. Mrs. J. Cowie, the stamp secretary, said she had cleaned and sorted 12,613 used stamps, a large number of these being sold locally and the balance being forwarded to the Auckland secretary for disposal. It is estimated that the return from this source will augment the funds by about £lO. The Rev. J. Graham, who presided at the meeting, congratulated the ladies on the work being done. The election of officers resulted as follows : President—Mrs. J. Graham; VicePresidents—Mrs. J. Wilcox and Mrs. A. F. Mackenzie ; Secretary—Mrs. W. Parker ; Associate Members’ Secretary—Miss J. Morrison ; Box Secretary Mrs. H. Foley ; * “Harvest Field” Agent—Mrs. R. A. Johnston ; Stamp Secretary—Mrs. J. Cowie.
