Dance The dance held in the Te Puhi hall on Saturday evening was quite a success, although considering it was held to get funds for the improvement of the Victoria Valley Memorial Hall, there was not the crowd that was anticipated. All present seemed to enjoy dancing to the music supplied by Miss Marie Kitchen. Mr. Donald Kitchen played an extra, while Mr. Noel Coulter as usual made a good m.c. A competition was won by Mr. A. Wrathall of Backriver. A spot waltz was won by Mr. and Mrs. Willis Switzer while two monte carlos were won by Mrs. A. Edwards and partner, ar.d Mrs. Reece White and Master Derrol White. After the ladies had served supper, dancing continued until midnight. Personal Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carppe are spending a few days at Mangonui with Mrs. Carppe’s grand-father, Mr. Jeff Edwards. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Harrison of Kaikohe spent the weekend with Mrs. L. Thompson.
