Glider Club Meeting
Members of the Ijlaitaia Glider Club were informed at last night’s meeting that dates for future monthly meetings would be altered to avoid elash : ing- with the activities of other local organisations and to ensure better attendances.
Although no further informatio’ other than in respect of single-plac machines, is available to the Club, en quiries are in hand regarding plan and specifications of a two-place, sid by side, open cockpit, high-wing sai plane, an illustration of which a:
peared in a recent, number of an English periodical. This particular machine was viewed at (the “Bray” Gliding School in fngland and is considered by mentbers of the local Club to suit their requirements. The Bray School has been requested to forward the Club’s communication to the manufacturers or to anyone who has the required information. The Kaitaia Club would prefer an all-wood machine as it considers that repairs could be more effectively carried out on this type than ton one of metal construction.
The only other pertinent business discussed was a proposed take-off strip, reported to be near Waiharara. This is to be viewed by members and local enquiries made.
