PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION A very enjoyable evening was well attended by members of the Kaingaroa Parent Teacher Association at the school on Wednesday night, the evening taking the form of a talk and film strips given by the nurse in charge of the Kaitaia Dental Clinic, Nurse S. Harwood. Nurse Harwood’s talk was followed closely and at its conclusion many questions were asked. The President, Mr. E. G. Smith, thanked the nurse for her most interesting- talk. This was carried by acclamation. A programme of games and competitions was ably organised and directed by Misses D. B. Woodall and P. M. Porritt of the school staff. Members entered enthusiastically and a most entertaining evening closed with a tasty supper. It was decided that the Association would take charge of arrangements for the annual Children’s Christmas Tree Party, which is to be held on Wednesday, 17th December. A committee consisting of Mesdames L. E. Malcolm, H. P. Macpherson and H. Feely was set up to organise the function. It was announced that the drive for funds for a Learners’ Pool was progressing very satisfactorily.
