Glider Club Meeting
There \Vas a large attendance at the September meeting of the* Kaitaia Glider Club c held in the Library Rooms on Monday evening, presided over by Mr. W. Lysaght, Club President. 'i »• In addition to letters from Mr. Cartwright of Whemgarfei and the War Assets Realisation Board, a re- - ply was received frehn an American firm to. a request folk; general specifications of current production. As it is the'desire of the Club to build a woodeifemachine, the specifications received, /which were for a machine of steel Construction, could not be utilised. i It.was proposed that approach be made to the N.Z. Gliding Association, Wellington, regarding’ membership. The treasurer, Mr. Ken ’Timbers, tendered his resignation and Mr. J. Buckle was elected to fill the vacancy. General business was concluded at an early hour and Mr. Ralph Benton then presented the first of a series of lectures on subjects pertaining to flying. Theory of Flight was Mr. Benton’s subject. 7*
