FOOTBALL The Auckland Maori representative football team which will arrive at the Oturu Settlement this afternoon, will play the main fixture at the A. and P. Oval against the Mangonui senior reps tomorrow afternoon. The game w-ill commence at 2 p.m. sharp. At its meeting on Wednesday evening, the Mangonui Rugby Union committee received advice that the Whangarei City Junior team which was engaged to play tomorrow afternoon’s curtain-raiser against Kaitaia, had been obliged to cancel its visit. It has been arranged to substitute a junior County competition fixture, Te Rarawa v. Peria, and this game will commence at 12.45 p.m. The football programme tomorrow' will be opened with the final of the County fourth grade championship for the Cowie Shield, Kaitaia v. Awanui, at the Oval commencing 11.30 a.m. * BASKETBALL Tw'o teams of Mangonui representative basketballers departed from Kaitaia at 12 noon today to t r avel to ; Whangarei where they will compete in tomorrow’s tournament. They will return by bus on Sunday afternoon. Two further County teams will meet the Auckland Maori representatives at the Kaitaia School courts tomorrow at 11 a.m. All players are requested to be at the courts one hour before this time. - GOLF Following is the draw for the Thompson trophy, a four-ball oesttall Bogey competition.
