Arrangements for the first big race meeting to be held under the auspices of the Kaitaia and County Sports Club Incorporated were discussed at a meeting last Wednesday evening. The meeting is to be held on Mr. W. H. Maria’s property, three miles from Kaitaia on the main south highway on Anniversary Day January 29, 1947. Net proceeds from the meeting will go to the County R.S.A. and H.S.A. funds. Refreshment booths, tea and hot water will be provided on the ground together with a Kapa Maori. TURF TIT BITS (By “Pegasus”) Interest in the forthcoming meet has been aroused throughout the county. From now until the meeting, the form of competing horses will no doubt be closely studied.
