FAREWELL DANCE Before returning toVamp, boys for the “J” Force were tendered a farewell. The hall was crowded, visitors attending from Broadwood and Kaitaia. The music was supplied by the_ Pawarenga string orchestra, and with Mr. I. Reid as m.c. things were kept lively. / After supper, theftoys were called up, and Mr. Wally stales spoke of the object of their goiflg away and presented each with *an envelope with the well wishes of the people of the district. Harold Beacham responded on behalf of his plates, and thanked everyone. The boys going were : Harold Beacham, John Murray, Herbie Curreen and Buzzie Curreen. TENNIS BALL Last week a Bali was held to mark the end of the tennis seakon, Al- | though there was not a big crowd, owing to very bad weather/ quite a happy time was spent dancing to the strains of the Ahipara/ orchestra. With Mr. I. Reid as m.c./the dancing was kept going. After A dainty supper was served, dancing was resumed. PERSONAL Mrs. Houghton SnK has returned to Auckland after a visft to her son Lloyd. / Mrs. E. Bourke and Miss Olga Cur- ' reen are home again after a few days i spent in the City.
