Kaitaia Anglican Church Choir
A birthday party to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the formation of the choir of St. Saviour’s Anglican Church was held in the Parish Hall last Friday evening. The evening was devoted to games, dancing and items, and was attended by members of the choir and parents. After supper the Rev. A. F. Collardr Scruby gave a short address on the formation of the choir five years previously by Capt. The Rev. H. G. Taylor, D. 5.0., and he then called on Clinton Rule, who had the longest service in the choir, to light the candles on the birthday cake which had been made by Mrs. A. Holder and decorated by Mrs. H. Mclntosh. Following the extinguishing of the candles by the Choir Mistress, Mrs. E. King, the cake was cut up and distributed. Mrs. H. Rule provided the dance music, and items were as follows : Sketch—Mr. and Mrs. H. Head and Mrs. King; Vocal Duet—Mrs. King and Mr. Head; . Piano Duets June Hester and Margaret King; Spanish Guitar—Mr. Matthews. The Broom competition was won by Mrs. King and the Mystery Parcel by Mrs. Rule. The monte carlo was won by Mary Northwood and partner.
