PERSONAL Mrs. Hawke is visiting Kawakawa. Mrs. W. D. MacKenzie and children are visiting Whangarei. Mr. and Mrs. Middleton and daughter visited Paihia during the weekend. Mrs. R. MacDonald and children have been visiting Whangarei. Mr. L. Downey is visiting his parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. MacDonald of Te Karae are the proud parents of a baby daughter.
DANCE
On Wednesday evenffig last a failcrowd gathered at the Oddfellows Hall where they enjoyed a dance in aid of the funds of the East Queen of the Fighting Mother Carnival. An enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. Enright furnished the music and Mr. I. Martin was M.C .
DANCE AND SOCIAL
A most pleasant evening was spent in dancing and musical items on Saturday. Songs were rendered by Mesdames Hyde, Duffin, Smith and Misses D. Hyde, T. and N. Kjoller, and Master J. Kingdon. A recitation was given by Master D. Jones. The hula dance was presented by Mrs. A. Smith and Miss V. Lobendahan which was enjoyed by all, and song, ukelele and I banjo items were given by Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith. A pleasant evening came to a close at 12 o’clock. All proceeds of this evening went towards the funds of the East Fighting Forces Mother.
