The Canadian Government instituted on May 4 meatless Tuesdays in all public eating: places.
BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC POWER BOARD POWER SHUT DOWN Power will be shut down in the Bay of Islands and Mangonui Counties on SATURDAY, 21st instant, from 12.30 p.m. till 4 p.m. for alterations to Public Works Dept, main transmission line. On SATURDAY 28th instant, power will again be shut down for the same period in the Mangonui County only, for the above mentioned reason. Mandeno, Lee & Brown, Consulting Engineers.
