TAKAHUE
From Our Correspondent at
Social Evening On Saturday last a social evening was given by the residents of Takahue and parents of children who visited the Exhibition, to Mr. and Mrs. D. Saunders in apprec ,if*oii of what they did to make the trip a success for the local children. By Mi. and Mrs. Saunders’ efforts a considerable sum of money was raised. This was used to help to give the children a good time and to help to send some children who would not j otherwise have been able to go. The evening took the form of a dance, music being supplied by Misses R. and U. Bastard, Mrs. N. Masters and Mrs. B. Wright. Mr. V. Beazley acted as m.c. After a delightful supper, Miss Gwen Bastard, on behalf of the parents, made a presentation of a crystal water jug and goblets to Mr. and Mrs. Saunders. Other speakers were Messrs. H. Sanders, J. Stewart and H. Thompson. Mr. Saunders very suitably responded.
