PRESENTATION OF LIFE SAVING AWARD
Mr. Charles Wallis Cooper, a retired schoolteacher who is now residing at Kaingaroa, was recently presented with the Royal Humane Society’s framed certificate for life saving. The Rev. J. A. Scarrow of Kaitaia, in presenting the certificate, spoke of the royal backing of the society and the value of its awards, and asked Mr. Cooper to hang the certificate in a prominent place as it was something of which to be proud. Mr. Cooper returned thanks and assured them he was deeply appreciative of the honour attaching to the award.
