PRINCESS THEATRE Friday and Saturday A laugh creating, amusing bit of nonsense comes to the Princess on Friday and Saturday, in the guise of those prime comedy favourites Gracie Allen and George Burns, whose latest fun film, “Here Comes Cookie,” measures up as first rate comedy entertainment. A powerful, timely dramatisation of the undercover activities of the Federal T-Men, guardians of the U. S. Treasury, provides the motivating theme of “Counterfeit,” which will also be screened. An adult recommendation goes with these pictures. Monday Sparkling comedy, captivating singing, inspiring dancing, fine acting, lovely songs—put them all together and add a story that is as fresh as to-morrow’s news, and you have “The Music Goes Round,” the picture for Monday evening. Wednesday Wallace Beery—Barbara Stanwyck —John Boles. These three great stars, together for the first time, enact their greatest roles in the roistering, romantic, “A Message to Garcia,” the picture that will be screened on Wednesday. The picture has a

plot written about one of history’s most fascinating exploits. The adult recommendation goes with this picture.

AWANUI TALKIES Saturday At the Awanui Talkies on Saturday will be screened one of the best Western pictures that has been produced its title is “Heart of the West,” and with William Boyd taking the part of Hopalong Cassidy, patrons may be sure of plenty of thrills, action and adventure as they ride the range with Hopalong in his fight against rustlers. Wednesday A double feature programme will be screened on Wednesday when “Country Mouse,” a picture all in colour, will be the first showing, followed by “The Mine with the Iron Door,” a picturisation of Harold Bell Wright’s book of the same name. Richard Arlen stars in this astounding romance of the riddle of the Rockies, the secret of the mine with the iron door.
