“Our product is exceedingly good, but we must not rest on our oars because other countries are making very great advances. Whereas a few years ago there was marked difference between Australian and New Zealand butter, today Australian butter has improved and the best of it is quite equal in quality to New Zealand butter.” Prof. W. Riddet, director of N.Z. Dairy Research Institute, just returned from 12 months tour of the world.

“Australia and New Zealand have another set of problems. These two Dominions are comparatively empty lands coveted by teeming Far-Eastern hordes which are now equipped with efficient weapons of modern warfare, Australia and New Zealand therefore feel they have good reason for supplementing their own efforts for defense, by holding closely to a naval power (Britain) that will at least do all it can to help them in case of need.”—E. C. Cotes.
